A little about Lauren...

I'm from Millbrook, Alabama and have loved living in our beautiful state my entire life. As a graduate of Auburn University, I was eager to come back home to Lee County to open my State Farm agency in 2021.

My husband, Colby and I live and worship in downtown Opelika. We enjoy spending time on the water and outdoors with our daughter. We have two cats, Boo and Holiday.

Seasonal Insurance Tips for Fall and Winter

As the leaves change and temperatures drop, it’s essential to reassess your insurance coverage to ensure you’re protected through the fall and winter months. Here are some key tips to keep in mind:

1. Review Your Homeowners Insurance

  • Check for Coverage: Review your policy and deductibles should you need to file a claim.

  • Update Your Inventory: With the holiday season approaching, update your home inventory. Document any new gifts or valuables to ensure they’re covered.

2. Prepare for Winter Weather

  • Winterize Your Home: Take proactive measures to prevent damage. Insulate pipes, clean gutters, and check your roof for loose shingles.

  • Add Coverage for Winter Damage: Consider adding additional coverage for storm damage or flooding if you live in an area prone to severe winter weather.

3. Auto Insurance Adjustments

  • Check Your Coverage Limits: Winter driving can be treacherous. Ensure you have sufficient coverage for accidents, especially if you frequently travel in snowy conditions.

  • Consider Comprehensive Coverage: If you live in an area with heavy snowfall, consider comprehensive coverage for damage from winter storms or accidents caused by ice.

4. Life Insurance Review

  • Evaluate Your Policy: Life changes often occur during the holiday season. If you’ve had significant life events (like marriage or the birth of a child), review your life insurance policy to ensure it meets your current needs.

  • Consider Additional Coverage: The end of the year is a great time to think about increasing your coverage, especially if you have dependents relying on you.

5. Holiday Safety and Liability

  • Liability Coverage: With guests visiting for the holidays, ensure your liability coverage is sufficient in case of accidents on your property.

As the seasons change, so do the risks and challenges we face. Taking the time to review and adjust your insurance policies can provide protection during the fall and winter months. For personalized service, reach out to our team to discuss your specific needs.

Stay safe and enjoy the season!
